Three Georgian doctors have offered their medical assistance to the people of Ukraine and have traveled to the violence-ravaged city of Kiev today.
The specialist doctors will offer significant aid to injured Ukrainians, where one of the three volunteers is a burn specialist.
The doctors' travel costs will be covered by Tbilisi City Hall.
More than 20 doctors wanted to offer assistance in Ukraine and addressed the City Hall for funding their travel plans however the decision was made to finance three volunteers at yesterday's City Hall meeting.
Also yesterday, Health Minister David Sergeenko said Georgia was ready to send Ukraine medical and humanitarian aid.
The Minister said he had received a phone call from Ukrainian Health Minister Raisa Bogatyryova, and the decision for Georgia to help its brother country was made.
Georgia’s Health Minister has already met with a group of physicians and said Georgia was ready to offer assistance at any moment.
