Georgia is ready to assist Ukraine by sending vital medical and humanitarian aid.
Georgia’s Health Minister Davit Sergeenko revealed Georgia was ready to send vital basic aid to the violence-stricken country at a press conference today.
The Minister said he had received a phone call from Ukrainian Health Minister Raisa Bogatyryova, and the decision for Georgia to help its brother country was made.
Sergeenko said Georgia would support Ukraine where the country was involved in a crisis.
"[The Ukrainian Health Minister] expressed gratitude and thanks for the support and we agreed on an action plan,” Sergeenko said.
"As [my] Ukrainian colleague said, today’s situation is a crisis where medical and other human resources do not intersect. We agreed to offer humanitarian and medical aid … and they also identified the critical [areas],” Sergeenko announced.
Georgia’s Health Minister has already met with a group of physicians and said Georgia was ready to offer assistance at any moment.
The Minister said the situation in Ukraine was unacceptable and he offered his deepest sympathy to the families of the victims.
