Ten Georgian soldiers wounded while fighting to protect the country’s unity have received apartments from the state at the Gori military settlement.
All ten military servants already received flats at Tbilisi military settlements however they will temporarily live at specifically refurbished apartments in Gori while they tackle their next challenge at the Gori Military Academy.
After undergoing a rehabilitation course, the wounded soldiers were asked to continue their service and spend time at the Academy to share their experiences with other soldiers.
"While they are staying here it is very important for them to keep their families close to them,” said Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili today as he handed over the apartment keys to the soldiers and their families.
A total of 87 flats were built for soldiers at the Gori settlement. Of these, 15 were adapted to suit the needs of those who suffered severe injuries and had limbs amputated.
"Our soldiers can put their hope and faith in us because we put our hope and faith in them,” the PM said.
Georgia’s Defence Minister Irakli Alasania also attended today’s key-handing ceremony.
