877 families of military people receive appartments in the military settlement of Tbilisi.
Symbolically, Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili and Minister of Defense Irakli Alasania handed the keys of the apartments to three families.
As Garibashvili announced, for him, a soldier is a symbol of a patriot. According to the PM, being military is an extremely honorable, but a very dangerous profession.
"Soldiers require a lot of dedication and self-sacrifice, as they have to protect their country 24 hours per day. We have an enormous number of hero soldiers and we are a proud nation. Unfortunately, many soldiers died heroically in the battles for the freedom of our country or for contributing to international peace and I bow my head in front of their families. Garibashvili said.
He also stressed that Georgia has the ambition of a European country and the Georgian government is committed to offer those standards to the soldiers like those that are imposed by European soldiers.
"Today is a very happy day. The Georgian government handed apartments to over 900 families. Among them are the families of the heroically deceased and injured soldiers. It is our duty to take care of their dignified life. The image of the country is determined by how the state treats its own soldiers and citizens. added Garibashvili and pointed that there are still a lot of soldiers without the apartments and government will do everything to change this.
877 military families already registered their apartments in the House of Justice. Accommodation was provided to 22 families of deceased soldiers, 37 injured soldiers who participated in ISAF and OIF missions, Lapankuri operation, and the August 2008 war also received apartments. These apartments are renovated as a special project that enables them to freely use the infrastructure of the building.
