Georgia's wounded warriors will be provided with the highest quality of mental healthcare offered by the United States (US).
An American professional has arrived in Tbilisi to train mental healthcare providers in Georgia's Defence Ministry.
The US European Command and US Embassy in Tbilisi are supporting the March 2-14 visit of the US military psychologist who will provide training to Defence Ministry mental healthcare providers.
The training is expected to improve multinational collaboration and delivery of mental health care to the Georgian Armed Forces, particularly to Georgia's wounded soldiers.
The training will include topics on mild traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress, combat and operational stress, psychological first aid and resiliency.
"This training -- to provide the highest quality of mental healthcare to Georgia's Wounded Warriors -- will further strengthen the deepening strategic relationship between the United States European Command and the Georgian Ministry of Defence,” the US Embassy in Tbilisi said.
