Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Sunday highlighted an expected “double-digit economic growth”, adding the country’s economy was developing “rapidly”.

Speaking for the press, Kobakhidze noted “in a few days, revised data of [the country’s] economic growth” would be published, which “will be very close to double-digit growth”, emphasising “we expect similar high growth in February as well”.

Although the people standing near the [Georgian] Parliament [protesting the Government's decision last year not to include European Union accession talks in its agenda until 2028] had a task to somehow impede the development of the economy, they managed to do that to some extent in December, but they were unable to do so in January”, he pointed out.

The PM added “we concluded January with very good [economic upturn] indicators”, stressing that “high [economic] growth” was also anticipated next month.
