Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Georgian Parliament, on Friday said the upcoming review of elections monitored by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe last year would “not lead to any changes” in the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights’ December report on Georgia’s general elections held in October.

Speaking from Vienna, where the 24th Winter Meeting of the OSCE PA is taking place, Samkharadze noted the session would provide a “broad overview rather than focus on specific details”.

The heads of the mission who observed elections in Georgia and other countries will present a brief summary of their findings and may offer general recommendations for each nation, from the United States to Georgia”, he said.

The MP also highlighted the Georgian delegation remained “actively engaged” in committee hearings, reaffirming the country’s commitment to “close cooperation” with the OSCE.
