Jubo Turashvili, the Head of the Energy Policy and Investment Projects Department of the Ministry of Economy of Georgia and Davit Narmania, the Head of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission on Monday discussed cooperation with officials of Slovakia’s energy sector during a meeting in Považská Bystrica.
The discussions centred around “key areas” for cooperation, with both sides underscoring the importance of not only strengthening bilateral relations but also addressing necessary reforms within the sector and regulatory frameworks, the Ministry of Economy said.
The meeting highlighted the investment potential of Georgia’s energy sector, with the Slovak side expressing particular interest in support schemes for the industry aimed at attracting both domestic and foreign investments and enhancing the country’s energy security.
It also noted the need for business forums and B2B meetings between Georgian and Slovak companies to foster deeper collaboration in energy.
The representatives concluded the meeting by expressing their commitment to “actively pursue new energy initiatives” that would promote greater security in the sector of both countries.
