Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Monday hailed the World Governments Summit in Dubai as a “good platform for dialogue with partner states”, as she joined Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and the Georgian delegation at the event set to run between Tuesday and Thursday in the United Arab Emirates.
In her press comments, the official said Georgia’s participation in the Summit “provides an opportunity to engage in high-level discussions and strengthen bilateral relations with various nations”.
Quite high-level representative delegations are present in the event, and it is important for Georgia to participate and make its voice heard, as well as hold bilateral meetings with representatives of various countries”, she noted.
While economic issues are a primary focus, Bochorishvili highlighted the Summit’s agenda extended beyond economic matters.
Of course, the emphasis is mainly on economic topics, although the Summit is not limited to discussing only economic topics - its agenda includes very important issues that are also relevant for Georgia, both economically and in general, in terms of developing bilateral relations with various countries”, the FM added.
The World Governments Summit was established in 2013 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai. Its theme this year is Shaping Future Governments.
