Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, on Thursday congratulated Irakli Kobakhidze on his reappointment as the Prime Minister of Georgia, calling it a “well-deserved” development that he said testified the PM’s “strong leadership” in the country.

Tokayev said Georgia represented a “very important partner” of Kazakhstan, adding he “highly appreciated” the “significant progress” the former had made in its economic growth, in comments during Kobakhidze’s visit to Kazakhstan on Thursday.

We are following Georgia’s economic development closely. As far as I know, last year economic growth reached 9.4 percent, which is a very impressive result”, he said.
