The Georgian National Tourism Administration and 45 domestic companies promoted the country’s tourism potential at OTM, one of Asia’s largest tourism exhibitions in Mumbai, India last week, the Administration said on Monday.
During the fair, held between Thursday and Saturday, Maia Omiadze, the Head of the GNTA, engaged with some of India’s leading travel agencies, companies, platforms, and media organisations to promote Georgia’s tourism offerings.
Representatives of the private sector have [also] forged business connections with their Indian counterparts to attract more tourists to Georgia through collaborative efforts. We have actively worked for three days to showcase Georgia to the attendees”, she said.
Luka Gorgiladze, a representative of the Georgia Adventure travel agency, said participation in the exhibition had allowed companies to establish ties with Indian tour operators.
We had numerous meetings, and they showed great interest in Georgia. We believe this will be fruitful, as they are already inquiring about specific dates and various programmes to promote the Georgian market”, he said.
Sofia Kordzadze from the hospitality company Silk Hospitality highlighted the importance of the Indian market, noting it was “very important to us, as it is rapidly growing for Georgia”.
This exhibition has opened new opportunities for us, and we have made several valuable contacts. We hope to see an increase in visitors from India to Georgia in the future”, she added.
The exhibition featured 1,600 tourism companies and organisations from over 60 countries, with more than 40,000 visitors attending the event.
