Georgian Agriculture Minister, Armenian Ambassador explore opportunities for developing cooperation

David Songulashvili, the Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Georgia, and Ashot Smbatyan, the Armenian Ambassador to the country, on Friday discussed the existing cooperation between their nations and opportunities for its further development.

During the meeting, the discussion centered on enhancing trade and economic relations, with specific emphasis on sectors such as sustainable water resource management, winemaking, agrotourism, and aquaculture, the Ministry said.

The importance of sharing expertise and experiences to strengthen these areas was underscored by both parties, the body added.

Smbatyan congratulated Songulashvili on his recent appointment, and said Georgia was a “friendly” country of Armenia.

He also expressed “steadfast readiness” for a “multilateral” and “effective” cooperation between the sides.
