Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said “everyone should focus on Ukraine”, in comments following French President Emmanuel Macron’s claim on Monday that said Russia had “clearly destabilised and falsified the electoral process in Georgia” during the parliamentary elections held in the country in October.

In his response, Kobakhidze said the “real problem facing everyone today” was a “destroyed Ukraine”.

If Russia is interfering anywhere in neighbouring countries, it is in Ukraine, and everyone should instead look after Ukraine, which has been sacrificed for destruction”, he claimed.

“The French President should instead look after Ukraine”, the PM said, adding he would “not comment on lies” in the comments he was responding to.
