Georgia’s Finance Ministry on Saturday hosted a meeting with experts of the European Commission, discussing the reforms envisaged by the Economic Reform Programme for the years 2024-2026.

Georgia joined the process of preparing the medium-term Programme and submitted its first annual document to the Commission on February 29 after obtaining the status of a European Union membership candidate country, the Ministry said.

Nicholas Cendrowicz, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Georgia, said the delegation was waiting for recommendations from EU member states regarding Georgia's economy, financial situation, and macro and fiscal stability.

This will be part of the preparatory process for Georgia's accession to the EU. We will consider options on how the country can cope with the challenges of the EU market and integrate into the single market”, Cendrowicz emphasised.

The ERP document, a medium-term expenditure planning tool for the candidate countries, reflects the country’s main data, directions and parameters defined within the annual budget forecasts.
