Police arrest 10 on drug violations across Georgia

Georgian police on Saturday said law enforcement officers had arrested ten individuals, including nationals from Georgia, Belarus and Israel, on drug-related charges in the capital Tbilisi and other regions of the country.
Police officers have seized “large and especially large” amounts of narcotic and psychotropic drugs including heroin, cocaine, Suboxone, Amphetamine, Ecstasy, cannabis and other substances, from locations indicated by the offenders, as well as during searches of the individuals, their residential houses and vehicles related to them.
The law enforcement officers also seized money allegedly obtained from drug sales, materials necessary for drug packaging, a signal pistol and nine cartridges.
The offences are punishable by 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
Georgian police on Friday said law enforcement officers had arrested 270 individuals on drug-related charges, including 27 for drug-dealing, across the country since the beginning of the year.
Georgian police on Wednesday said law enforcement officers had arrested 112 individuals on drug-related charges, including 66 for drug-dealing, in capital Tbilisi and other regions of the country.
Customs officers of the Georgian Revenue Service seized 9.3 kilograms of Ketamine from a Ukrainian citizen at the Tbilisi International Airport in Georgia’s capital, the body said on Wednesday.
Georgian police on Thursday said law enforcement officers had arrested 52 individuals on drug-related charges, including 37 for drug-dealing, sale, purchase, possession and smuggling of drugs, in capital Tbilisi and other regions of the country.
