The Ministry of Health on Wednesday said 10 centres for dialysis had been launched across Georgia this year to bring the service closer to patients.
The venues were launched in Tsalenjikha, Sagarejo, Dusheti, Akhalkalaki, Kvareli, Tkibuli, Senaki, Martvili, Khulo and Chiatura, in both east and west of the country.
Geographical accessibility is especially important. Before, beneficiaries had to cover kilometres between cities to access procedures several times a week”, the Ministry said.
The body added the centres served 2,600 patients a day in 49 municipalities of the country.
Similar venues will also be launched in Dedoplistskaro, Kaspi and Tsnori in the east of the country, and Tsageri in the west, the Ministry said.
