Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Sunday said “everything in the world” would change “significantly” after the inauguration of the United States President-elect Donald Trump.
From January 20, we believe everything in the world will change significantly, will calm down considerably, including our region, and we are waiting for the inauguration of the President in the United States. This, of course, should be positively reflected on our country as well”, Kobakhidze noted.
At a press conference, he stressed the Georgian society was waiting for the inauguration with “great optimism” and expressed hope “everything” would be “quite well”.
The PM also touched on the Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili's meeting with the US President-elect Donald Trump in France on Saturday, emphasising “Salome Zourabichvili will not be able to attend this moment [the US President’s inauguration], [as] her term of office is already expiring on December 29, therefore, the inauguration is not relevant to her at all”.
