Georgian Health Minister, parents of children with rare diseases discuss future priorities

Georgian Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze on Thursday met parents of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a severe type of muscular dystrophy, and cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder, to discuss funds in next year’s budget for meeting their needs and  future priorities, the Ministry said.

Sarjveladze reviewed opportunities for developing the existing treatment programme and retraining of personnel and specialists.

The official also received information about the current needs from beneficiaries and representatives of the medical field.
