The National Bank of Georgia has secured a certificate in the internationally recognised standard for Information Security Management System, the Bank announced on Wednesday.
“Ensuring information security is a big challenge on an international scale. The Bank manages critical business systems and it is extremely important to conduct the relevant business operations securely, which, in turn, makes banking services more reliable”, Natia Turnava, the Acting Governor of the National Bank said.
The NBG added it had been working for over a decade to “refine and align” information security management system with international standards, as the institution “places great emphasis on the protection of availability, confidentiality, and integrity of information”.
The audit process to certify the body’s compliance with the international standard for information security management involved both Georgian and international companies. The certificate was issued by TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH, the German certification body.
