Ekaterine Mikabadze, the Vice Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, participated in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Washington to discuss the macroeconomic environment of Georgia, the NBG said on Wednesday.

Mikabadze reviewed the country’s monetary and fiscal stability at the meetings with Bo Li, the IMF Deputy Managing Director, Jihad Azour, the Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department of IMF, and Alejandro Hajdenberg, the new Mission Chief of the IMF. 

At the meetings, it was also highlighted that the target rate of inflation remained low in Georgia, emphasising the price stability that was the result of the consistent monetary policy of the National Bank.

The annual meetings, held from October 21 to October 26, gathered the heads of the IMF and the WBG and representatives of economic teams from almost all the countries of the world.
