Georgia's Central Election Commission on Saturday declared the results from the 69th polling station, located in Marneuli in eastern Georgia, null and void for the ongoing general elections following an incident that saw an individual stuff multiple ballots into a ballot box at the location.
The decision was made following an emergency meeting of the district election commission after Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the Chair of the CEC, called for an “immediate investigation” into the incident that was seen in a video released on social media.
CEC Spokesperson Natia Ioseliani said the video showed the individual in question wearing an observer ID, adding the administration would provide more information on his affiliation at a later time.
The Georgian Interior Ministry announced it was investigating the incident.
