Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday officially introduced Tinatin Rukhadze as the new Minister of Culture and Sports, and Shalva Gogoladze as the First Deputy Minister, during a meeting with employees of the body.

During the announcement, Kobakhidze thanked former Minister Thea Tsulukiani for her contributions.

He also revealed plans for a legislative change to split the current Ministry into two separate entities after the upcoming October 26 parliamentary elections, when Rukhadze will assume the position of Minister of Culture and Gogoladze will work as the Minister of Sports.

Kobakhidze emphasised the Government’s commitment to enhancing the sports sector, noting the establishment of a dedicated Ministry “reflects the priority given to its growth and development”.
