Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday claimed “the peaceful way of restoration of the territorial integrity” of the country was “mutual reconciliation” with Abkhaz and Ossetian communities and it would not be possible without “mutual forgiveness”.
Kobakhidze said the message voiced by Bidzina Ivanishvili, the Honorary Chair and founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on October 10 in his election campaign speech, was still “valid”, and emphasised that the “only way to mutual reconciliation is mutual forgiveness between the peoples”.
The PM also added that Russia was carrying out “effective control” over Georgia's occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).
