United Airports of Georgia announces more flights between Kutaisi, Abu Dhabi starting November

The United Airports of Georgia on Tuesday announced flights between the Kutaisi International Airport in the country's west and Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, would increase starting from November, with 10 weekly services scheduled during the winter season.

Director Irakli Karkashadze hosted Ahmed Alnuaimi, the Ambassador of the UAE to Georgia, at the airport for a tour of the terminal and navigation tower, and briefed the diplomat on the facility's operation.

The parties also discussed the planned increase in flight frequencies, with Alnuaimi expressing satisfaction that the airport now provided a direct air link to the UAE capital, highlighting the route as “most popular” among passengers.

We are pleased that Wizz Air Abu Dhabi [Emirati budget airline], which flies daily from Abu Dhabi to Kutaisi, will soon almost double its flights. This is very good news and on certain days the airline will make two flights a day”, the Ambassador said.

In his comments, Karkashadze emphasised the increased flight frequency, noting the Middle East and the UAE represented “key tourism markets” for the country, and stressed the importance of continuing to promote the route.
