The Georgian Government knows “exactly what needs to be done” to strengthen the “position”, “strategic mission” and “function” of the country, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said on Monday.
He added Georgia could “qualitatively strengthen” its connectivity and transit function “in light of the new reality” created in the Black Sea region since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war.
We have a systematic approach, we know exactly what needs to be done from one year to the next to strengthen the position of our country. This concerns highways, [new] Tbilisi international airport [project], expansion of Kutaisi International Airport, railway modernisation project, the development of the port of Anaklia [in the Black Sea town] - we have a very clear vision in all directions, which ensures that in four years the country will have a completely different, much stronger position in the region”, he noted.
Kobakhidze emphasised “special attention” would be paid by the Government to the implementation of the projects.
