Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday claimed an alleged “pressure” on the country and his Government would be “lifted” with the end of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Kobakhidze said Georgia would face “serious risks” with a “serious interest in opening a second front” for the ongoing conflict.

As soon as the war in Ukraine ends, that is, the first front ends, the interest in a second front will immediately be removed and relations between Georgia and the United States will be rebooted”, the PM claimed.

He further reviewed the current state of relations with the US by highlighting his Government’s readiness to “take the utmost care of America's reputation” in the country as “we look forward to rebooting relations next year”.

“[Rebooting relations with US] will be one of our main tasks after the end of the war in Ukraine. The war must end, that is the main thing”, Kobakhidze noted, and further added that while the war in Ukraine continued, “specific forces still hope that a second front will open” in the country.
