Georgian citizens to enjoy visa-free travel to Hong Kong starting next week

Georgian citizens will be able to travel to Hong Kong, a Special Administrative Region of China without a visa starting on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday.

The body added the development would enable citizens to travel and stay in Hong Kong for 30 consecutive days, highlighting an “active work” of the sides to reach an agreement over visa free travel.

Georgian citizens have been able to travel to China without visas since May 28, while the country’s former PM Irakli Garibashvili announced visa free travel for Chinese citizens to Georgia in September 2023.

With its status as the special administrative region, Hong Kong has an independent immigration and visa policy.
