Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi, on Wednesday said the budget for the Georgian capital would increase by ₾21 million ($7.90mln) and reach ₾2 billion ($752mln) this year.
The increase reflects “transitional balances consisting of excess revenue [and] a certain component is funds transferred to transitional projects”, he said, adding the budget figure would increase from the previously approved ₾1.763 million ($662mln) to ₾2 billion.
Kaladze said the increased budget would also enable the City Hall to purchase an additional 40 units of 18-metre-long buses for the city.
The changes to be introduced in the 2024 budget will be submitted to the City Council for approval.
