The Air Quality Portal of the Environmental Information and Education Centre of Georgia this week reported a rise in the concentration of solid PM10 and PM2.5 particles in the air in eastern Georgia.

Authorities have attributed the increase primarily to transboundary pollution caused by a migration of desert dust masses from the south and southeast.

The body said monitoring of ambient air quality was being carried out “continuously” through automatic stations.
