Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said the state budget was increasing along with rises in the domestic employment rate, noting the latest statistics update that earlier on the day showed a 3.1 reduction in the latter figure in the second quarter of the year.
Kobakhidze said the country had sustained a nine-percent growth rate this year and emphasised “direct correlation” between growth and job opportunities.
Unfortunately, all our political discussion is diverted to some narrow political issues, which are not essentially interesting to the population, and do not concern the improvement of the standard of living of the population”, he claimed in comments.
He added his Government was committed to fostering economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and “delivering results”, which he said was “not only evident in statistics but also contributing to the state budget”, with newly employed individuals “making direct contributions” through income tax.
