Passenger traffic at Tbilisi, Batumi int’l airports at “historic peak” in July - managing company

Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports, in the Georgian capital and Black Sea city respectively, experienced a surge in passenger traffic to reach a “historic peak” in July, TAV Georgia, the managing company of the facilities, said on Monday.  

Specifically, Tbilisi Airport served a total of 519,275 passengers, marking a 29 percent increase year-on-year, while Batumi Airport witnessed a rise with 147,584 passengers, reflecting a 48 percent surge compared to data from 2023.

TAV Georgia said these figures surpassed the previous record set in August 2018, where the airports served 461,161 and 121,295 passengers respectively.

The company noted the annual passenger flow at the Tbilisi facility had been 547,150 for the complete year of 2005, when it started its operations in the country, while Batumi airport had recorded 39,762 passengers over eight months in 2007.
