Hungarian PM: Georgian Gov’t “trying to preserve independence, sovereignty” in “very difficult environment”

Viktor Orbán, the Hungarian Prime Minister, on Thursday said he “highly appreciated”  the Georgian Government in their efforts to “preserve independence and sovereignty” of the country “in a very difficult environment”. 

At the ongoing European Political Community Summit in the United Kingdom, Orbán also noted Georgia was a “wonderful and good country”, adding “many European leaders” did “not understand how difficult” it was for a country like Georgia to maintain its sovereignty “in all directions”.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze is also featuring in the fourth Summit together with a delegation involving Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Levan Zhorzholiani, the Head of the Government Administration.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is hosting leaders of 50 countries at the Blenheim Palace in Woodstock for the Summit. 

The main topics to be discussed at the event include current developments in Ukraine and illegal migration, while thematic discussions are also planned to be hosted.
