Georgian mixed martial arts wrestler Ilia Topuria, the UFC World Featherweight Champion, on Monday praised the performance of the country’s national football team at the ongoing European Championship in Germany after their exit following the last 16 knockout round defeat to Spain on Sunday.
In his social media post, Topuria noted he was “very proud of the incredible performance” of the Georgian national team at the Championship.
He said the Georgian squad had made history at the tournament, while Spain was “unstoppable”, adding "what they do on the field is not just football, it is pure magic”.
