Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday said his office would present a four-year development plan that would also serve as the programme for the October parliamentary elections in the country, citing “ambitious goals” in the vision.
Kobakhidze was presenting his annual report to the legislative body, and said the plan would be “transformed into a four-year Government initiative after the win” in the elections.
According to this forecast, our economy should become $44 billion in 2028, which is already a good indicator, but we have a bigger ambition than that and we have all the resources, potential to even surpass the $50 billion mark by 2028”, he said.
The main objective of the entire economic policy should be to utilise the potential as much as possible and this goal is absolutely achievable. Therefore, economic development will be one of the main components of the next four-year plan”, the PM added.
The Government head also said the International Monetary Fund had already issued a “very good” economic forecast for Georgia.
