Georgia’s Interior Ministry marked the launch of this year’s summer season in Georgia’s Black Sea city of Batumi on Monday with a showcase of water rescue equipment, vehicles, air and underwater drones designated to be used by rescuers along the coastline.
Updated sea craft, including rescue scooters and speedboats, were also presented at the event.
Equipped according to modern standards, rescuers in the Adjara region will fully cover the [domestic] coastline of the Black Sea and provide appropriate monitoring”, the Ministry said.
The event was attended by Temur Mghebrishvili, the Head of the Emergency Management Service, Tornike Rizhvadze, the Head of the regional Government of Adjara, Archil Chikovani, the Mayor of Batumi and officials from the Ajara Government.
