Irakli Lekvinadze, the Chair of the Georgian National Competition Agency, on Friday highlighted efforts for creating a “fair and competitive” business environment and presented reforms related to competition and consumer protection at the 14th forum of local economic development organised by the Tbilisi City Hall.
Speaking at the event, Lekvinadze emphasised a “growing focus on consumer protection” and the Agency's role in handling consumer complaints.
It is important that consumers know they are not alone when dealing with traders, and that in case of violations they can contact us and protect their rights. At the moment, about 900 applications are recorded at the Agency”, he said.
The forum was opened by Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and attended by national authorities as well as visitors from about 15 countries.
The event aimed to facilitate discussions on healthy cities, renewable energy, sustainable development, tourism, circular economy, technology, civic engagement and the impact of healthy living on city economies.
