Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Thursday evaluated the meeting with the visiting Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and said “the two friends”, the leaders of the strategic partner countries had had “a very fruitful discussion”.

In his comments, Erdoğan noted he had once again affirmed his support for Georgia’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and prosperity at the meeting with Kobakhidze, while also expressing his continuous support for the country’s path of integration in the Euro-Atlantic institutions.

The Turkish President emphasised the Georgian PM had informed him about the “current events” in Georgia and stressed he believed that “these processes” would be resolved in “the best interests” of the Georgian people.

He congratulated the “friendly” Georgian nation on Independence Day in advance. “I also want to congratulate the PM of Georgia on his appointment in February and wish him success”, Erdoğan added.
