Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and the Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Thursday said “fascism and radicalism” would “always be defeated” in a message on the anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.
Kaladze drew parallels with the current domestic “radical groups” by claiming they were “capable of anything”.
“If there is any nastiness or evil, these people are capable of anything. They were like this when they were in power”, Kaladze claimed in reference to the United National Movement party.
“No matter how they [radical opposition] change their names, these people remain the same people [...] with the same methods, they just have fewer opportunities and do all the dirty things with [the possibilities] they have”, he continued.
He further alleged actions of the domestic opposition were “manifested in their attitude to faith, Church and successful people”.
