Ruling party official reiterates “commitment” to Georgia's “European path”

Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and the Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Wednesday reiterated “commitment” to Georgia's European path by saying the country's  “values and traditions have always been in a bond with European culture”.

Kaladze said “all successes” the country had achieved on the path of European integration were “associated with” the ruling Georgian Dream party.

“The path of Georgia is unchanged. Our values, traditions, history, and diversity have always been in a bond with the great European culture”, the official commented.

I have said it many times and I will repeat it again that for some people, Europe may only be about going abroad, shopping, European bureaucrats, but for me personally and my teammates, Europe is values. We want to live by these values. First of all, we want European values in our country, in our everyday life”, Kaladze said.

“The institution of the family, freedom of belief, tolerance, respect for human rights were and are integral parts of our identity. European integration of the country is enshrined in the constitution. This decision was made under the Georgian Dream Government. In general, all the successes we have on the path of European integration are associated with the Georgian Dream party”, he noted.

The Secretary General of the party called on supporters to attend the public rally planned in Tbilisi on Monday in support of the domestic bill on the transparency of foreign influence.
