Gia Volski, the Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, on Friday said Georgia was ranked among the top 40 of the world and top 10 of continental Europe in freedom of the court from corruption in the Democracy Report of Varieties of Democracy.

In his social media post, Volski noted that Georgia was in the top three of the post-Soviet countries in freedom from corrupt decisions in court, stressing the need to “rely on the data of competent international organisations and not on the propaganda of the radical opposition” when discussing the judicial system in Georgia.

He highlighted that the country’s justice index improved by 69 levels compared to 2012 and Georgia was placed 27th in independence from Governmental influence on the judiciary, surpassing 21 European Union member states.

The model assessment of Georgia’s judicial independence has been marked with a positive score for the 11th year in a row, Volski also emphasised.
