Georgian PM appoints new State Representative in central Shida Kartli region

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday met Levan Kharabadze, a newly appointed State Representative to the country's central Shida Kartli region, the Government Administration said.
The Administration said the meeting discussed ongoing and planned projects to promote development of the region.
Kharabadze previously worked as the head of the Guria Police Department in the western region.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday hosted Ilia Topuria, a Georgian mixed martial arts wrestler who last month became the first athlete from the country to earn the title of the UFC World Featherweight Champion.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said state financing of educational projects of the Patriarchate of the Georgian Orthodox Church had been increased by ₾5 million ($1 mln) and reached ₾35 million ($13 mln).
Irakli Kobakhidze, the Georgian Prime Minister, on Tuesday said the Government was doing “everything” to ensure “fair” parliamentary elections in October, highlighting “fundamental” changes in legislation and introduction of an electronic system of voting, vote counting and voter registration.
