Acting National Bank Governor meets investors during Euromoney Forum visit

Natia Turnava, the Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, on Wednesday met international investors together with the Deputy Finance Minister Mirza Gelashvili in Vienna, where the officials arrived to participate in the annual Central and Eastern European Forum of Euromoney, a magazine covering global capital markets, between Tuesday and Wednesday.

At the meeting the Georgian officials gave a presentation on the financial and macroeconomic environment of Georgia to the international investors, the National Bank said. 

During the presentation, Turnava informed the investors about measures implemented in monetary policy and the achieved results, and also spoke about the reduction of the inflation level in recent months. 

In addition, she also emphasised the “stability” and “solidity” of the financial and banking sector of Georgia.

Despite the geopolitical challenges in the region, today Georgia firmly maintains its leading position in terms of maintaining macroeconomic stability and reducing inflation, which in a way increases the interest of investors”, she told them.

She later called the meeting “very representative and fruitful” and added the investors had “once again underlined” their interest in Georgia. 

The meeting was attended by representatives of Artisan Partners, Fim Partners, Union Investment, AllianzGI, Danske Bank and other companies.
