Georgian police officers have arrested a man for physical abuse of a two-year-old daughter in eastern Georgia’s Akhmeta municipality, the Interior Ministry announced on Friday.
The state body said the abuse had left the child with “multiple injuries and fractures”, with the victim transferred to a hospital for treatment.
It also said the offender, who was born in 1986, was set to face up to three years in prison.
Georgian Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri on Tuesday highlighted the Ministry’s efforts in combating crimes committed by minors, domestic violence and violence against women, and its work for protecting the rights of people with special needs.
