Economic trends of Georgia, reforms and macroeconomic indicators of the country were discussed on Monday in a meeting between the Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili and James John, the Mission Chief of the International Monetary Fund.
The Ministry of Finance said the meeting also involved other representatives of the IMF Mission to Georgia, with the discussion reviewing the course of reforms envisaged by the Fund’s three-year programme.
The officials praised the progress achieved by Georgia in the past two years, the country’s economic growth rates and improvement of "other fiscal parameters" despite regional and global challenges.
They also emphasised the importance of continuing the Government’s “prudent” macroeconomic policy.
