Georgia exported locally produced goods worth $5.10 billion between January and October, marking a 12.5 percent year-on-year increase in the figure, the National Statistics Office said on Monday.
The Office said local exports in the country had accounted for 46.5 percent of the total exports and amounted to $2.37 billion in the reporting period - a 23.3 percent decrease compared to January-October of 2022.
The country’s top trading partners in the reporting period were:
- Russia - $454.9 million
- Turkey - $307.3 million
- China - $239.1 million
The five largest domestic export goods were:
- Copper ores and concentrates - $445.8 million (18.8% of total exports)
- Wine from fresh grapes - $216.4 million (9.1%)
- Ferro-alloys - $143.3 million (6%)
- Nitrogenous fertilisers - $136.5 million (5.8%)
- Natural or artificial mineral and aerated waters with no added sugar - $114.6 million (4.8%)
Georgian external trade turnover amounted to $17.78 billion in January-October, posting a 16.2 percent increase year-on-year.
Otar Shamugia, the Georgian Agriculture Minister, on Monday said the Government was allocating ₾16 million ($6 mln) to promotion of Georgian products in “strategic” foreign markets, including in the United States and Europe, this year.
Turkey with $2.46 billion, Russia with $2.04 billion and the United States with $1.66 billion were the top trading partners of Georgia in its total external trade turnover between January and October, the National Statistics office of Georgia said on Monday.
Georgia’s deputy economy ministers Genadi Arveladze and Irakli Nadareishvili on Thursday highlighted the International Import Expo, an import industry fair looking to facilitate strengthening of economic cooperation and trade between participating states, as the “best platform” for Georgian companies to present products to Chinese consumers and importers.
Georgian Agriculture Minister Otar Shamugia on Tuesday highlighted the World Wine Trade Group, an organisation aiming to facilitate wine trade and promote international information-sharing and joint actions to remove trade barriers, as a “good platform” for “promoting and raising awareness” of Georgian wine.
Georgia exported locally produced goods worth $4.60 billion between January and September, marking a 12.7 percent year-on-year increase, the National Statistics Office said on Thursday.
Georgian external trade turnover amounted to $19.62 billion in January-November, posting a 14.7 percent year-on-year increase, the National Statistics Office said on Wednesday.
Turkey with $2.71 billion, Russia with $2.19 billion and the United States with $1.84 billion were the top trading partners of Georgia in its total external trade turnover between January and November, the National Statistics office said on Tuesday.
Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili on Monday highlighted last year’s “new record” in the country’s external trade, noting the figure had reached $6.1 billion, a 9.1 percent increase from 2021.
Fifteen Georgian companies are participating in the international exhibition Green Week 2024 - the largest international exhibition of food, agriculture, and horticulture in Berlin, with the support of the Agriculture Ministry.
