Georgian domestic exports up 12.5% between January-October

Georgia exported locally produced goods worth $5.10 billion between January and October, marking a 12.5 percent year-on-year increase in the figure, the National Statistics Office said on Monday.

The Office said local exports in the country had accounted for 46.5 percent of the total exports and amounted to $2.37 billion in the reporting period - a 23.3 percent decrease compared to January-October of 2022.

The country’s top trading partners in the reporting period were:

  • Russia - $454.9 million
  • Turkey - $307.3 million
  • China - $239.1 million

The five largest domestic export goods were:

  1. Copper ores and concentrates - $445.8 million (18.8% of total exports)
  2. Wine from fresh grapes - $216.4 million  (9.1%)
  3. Ferro-alloys - $143.3 million (6%)
  4. Nitrogenous fertilisers - $136.5 million  (5.8%)
  5. Natural or artificial mineral and aerated waters with no added sugar  - $114.6 million  (4.8%)

Georgian external trade turnover amounted to $17.78 billion in January-October, posting a 16.2 percent increase year-on-year.
