The Georgian Government Administration on Thursday said President Salome Zourabichvili had not requested authorisation from the body for her planned visit to France for participation in the Paris Peace Forum between Friday and Saturday.

The statement comes after the ruling Georgian Dream party last month fell short of votes at the Parliament to impeach Zourabichvili, after the Constitutional Court ruled the President had violated the Constitution with her unauthorised official visits earlier during the year.

Irakli Chikovani, an MP from Georgian Dream, on Thursday said Zourabichvili’s actions were “unconstitutional”, and added she had “proved by her own actions that she has lost her legitimacy and relevance”.
