Bilateral cooperation, current economic stance and post-pandemic progress made by the country towards economic and governance reforms were discussed on Wednesday by Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili and the World Bank’s high officials in Tbilisi.
The meeting highlighted the importance of the World Bank’s support in funding “priority” projects of Georgia and also discussed some future plans, The Ministry of Finance said.
The Ministry said the sides expressed hopes towards active continuation of usual cooperation between Georgia and the World Bank.
The meeting was attended by Asad Alam, Regional Director of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia in Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions; Ivailo V. Izvorski, Chief Economist of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia; Antonio Nucifora, Practice Manager of the World Bank for Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment; Ekaterine Guntsadze, Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia and Rolande Price, Regional Director of the World Bank for the South Caucasus.
