Natia Turnava, the Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, will join managers of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank as well as economic teams from more than 200 countries to participate in the annual meetings in Marrakesh, Morocco between Wednesday and Saturday.
As part of her visit Turnava will meet with Bo Li, the IMF Deputy Managing Director, Paul Hilbers, the IMF Executive Director, and Jihad Azour, the Director of the IMF Middle East and Central Asia Department.
Meetings are planned with representatives of the Federal Reserve Bank, the management of Clearstream - an international central securities depository, managers of rating agencies and investment companies, and representatives of Visa and Mastercard international payment systems.
Turnava will also take part in the Investor Conference organised by Bank of America, a high-ranking roundtable discussion organised by the IMF, as well as a meeting organised for central bank governors and finance ministers of the Caucasus and Central Asia region.
The National Bank’s regulations for the financing of the development sector were reviewed on Saturday by Natia Turnava, the Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia and the representatives of local commercial banks and the Business Association of Georgia.
