Giorgi Urushadze, the State Representative in Georgia's western Guria region, on Thursday said all internal footpath access roads were restored by professionals working in areas affected by landslides and floods last week.

Urushadze said geologists were working on the ground, with "all areas" connected to access footpath roads and work ongoing to restore vehicle roads.

He added over 1,200 families had received humanitarian aid, 218 people had been transferred to temporary hotels from the affected zones and 514 families had been taken to safe locations.

Geologists have checked 643 houses, [and] wrote negative reports on 306 of them - that is, 306 families are subject to provision of alternate accommodation. Electricity is not being supplied to 30 users in Kokati village. Gas supply has been interrupted to 432 users. Working groups of both Energo Pro Georgia and SOCAR Gas have been working to eliminate these problems soon”, Urushadze said.

He also added authorities would work to ensure provision of education to students, noting classes would be delayed in two public schools of Lanchkhuti on October 2, while other schools would start them on September 15.
