Small land mass collapses on road connecting Kutaisi-Alpana-Mamisoni, Sachkhere-Oni passes, no one injured - Roads Department

The Roads Department of Georgia on Saturday said during the ongoing works on the 107th kilometre of the Kutaisi (Choma)-Alpana-Mamisoni and Sachkhere-Oni passes, the small mass of land had collapsed.
No one was injured during the accident, as safety measures had been taken in advance due to the ongoing works, the Department noted.
The strengthening works were being carried out on the wall of the mentioned road section, which was cracked, the body explained, adding 140 metres of the protective wall had already been arranged and the work on the remaining 40 metres was still underway.

The Roads Department of Georgia on Tuesday said a slope of the Rikoti Pass dividing Georgia into its eastern and western parts had collapsed on Monday due to a landslide prior to reinforcement works planned on the section.
